Athletics

Driven by Sportmanship, striving for maximum perfomance

This week our department held conferences for secondary student athletes and their families to present our ongoing vision for ANS athletics.

We introduced the above-mentioned new slogan for the department and explained how this should be the guide for everyone involved in the program, from athletes and coaches to administrators and parents.

With a continued focus on the type of student athlete we want to represent us and the mindset they must develop in order to set themselves up for success, plus information regarding the different tools we have in place to support students, everyone left with a shared vision and clear on the part they will be required to play in this.

We sincerely thank all those who took the time to join us, either in person or online, and look forward to continuing to work closely together to have our program deliver the results we all desire!

MOTIVATION

Mindset is what separates the best from the rest.

Did you Know?

Mindset

As we presented our vision for the Athletics Department this week, ‘mindset’ and the type of person an ANS student athlete should be was at the forefront of this, having been identified as the pillar for sporting success for professional athletes, all the way down to “grassroots”.

For elite athletes, mental toughness, determination, and a will to win are all essential ingredients in any champion's recipe for success.

For team sports, athletes must find a shared mindset that allows the group to flourish so that all can push to overcome obstacles, and ultimately achieve their shared goals.

A student athlete has to balance their studies with family commitments and the demands of participation in athletics. Developing a champion's mindset will help them to be successful in every aspect of their lives.
