CELEBRATING 15 YEARS OF MAKING A DIFFERENCE
As a symbol of the incredible impact we had had up until December 2019 (when we hosted this event) and to mark 15 years since our co-founders first became involved in disaster relief, we hosted 15 events in 15 cities in Canada, Germany, Nepal, the UK, U.S. and Zimbabwe. We partnered with local non-profits and invited alumni from these regions to team up, get to know each other and leverage their volunteer skills to support people in need in their own communities.Â
LONDON RIVER CLEAN UP
12 previous volunteers and their friends and 1 staff member and three staff members from our partners at Indigo Volunteers joined a handful of local community members and staff from Thames21 to help remove non indigenous weeds from a region of the River Thames in London, clearing it ready for sewing new seeds to create an urban meadow.
INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER DAY
We celebrated how All Hands and Hearts volunteers are a force for good whether they're with us on the ground on our programs around the world or back home enacting positive change in their own communities. To celebrate International Volunteer Day, we designated December 5 as a global day of service on which to encourage our current volunteers, staff and alumni to get out into their local community in person or virtually and serve. By encouraging them to don All Hands and Hearts merchandise, we hope this will promote opportunities for our alumni to share their volunteer experience and raise awareness of our work where they live.
