MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH EVENTS
During the first two weeks of May (Mental Health Awareness Month), we hosted 12 virtual events facilitated by our community members, focusing on fighting the stigma around mental health and providing a platform for people to share their stories and any resources they may have found helpful in their journey.
We wanted to instill a sense of acceptance and inclusion in our community, recognizing it’s okay to not be okay and anyone affected by mental health concerns should be seen, listened to, and given access to the appropriate support.
OUR ALUMNI WERE FEATURED ON GAP YEAR RADIO
Two alumni, Riley and Josiah were featured in a Gap Year Radio episode which aired as part of Season 4 in March 2020. Riley and Josiah shared their volunteer experience and reflected on the skills they learned, interactions with beneficiaries and how inclusive our programs are. The team at Gap Year Radio linked out to our FAQ’s and our active program page.
