The Global Response team covers everything surrounding new disasters, DART, assessments, and rapid response or programs that launch in the wake of new disasters. We also focus on strategy and process to improve general response capacity for the organization.
Fiscal Year Response Outputs
DART deployments are fast-paced, logistically complex, and emotionally demanding.
To ensure the success and impact of our DART, we’re implementing a more structured process for DART Roster referral.
When evaluating candidates for the DART roster, staff should look for volunteers who bring specific competencies or experience, including:
the ability to lead a team of volunteers
ability to network effectively
experience with assessments
chainsaw operating Skills (Sawyers)
TL experience in: Muck and Gut, Mold Sanitation
speaking multiple languages, First Aid training
Program admin (knowledge of Salesforce/work logs, volunteer/community member paperwork, etc.)
Can serve as Local Guides (with a knowledge of the area and/or the key players working there)
Please reach out to the response@allhandsandhearts.org email. Identify the volunteer’s specialized skills, competencies, and their score of the criteria. The Response Team will review the recommendation and will either send a DART Roster Interest Form to the volunteer or have staff members share the link after reviewing the volunteer’s background. When the volunteer receives the DART roster link, please let them know the importance of the first question that will require them to identify the staff member who shared with them the link and/or referred them.
We have moved the roster into Salesforce! Here is a screenshot of some of the tools that now help us manage our growing list of DART volunteers around the world.
