As humanitarian workers, we have a responsibility to take care of ourselves first so that we are best equipped to serve the communities we work with. The following resources are made available to help ensure that we have the tools to do so.
Ultimately, it is your responsibility to care for your mental health & wellbeing. Your best line of defense is to proactively engage in self-care, and be attentive to the state of your mental health regardless of how healthy you feel. Remain aware of any changes you see in yourself and take the necessary action to improve your wellbeing - ideally before things become overwhelming, not when you're already overwhelmed.
However, we know that unexpected challenges can still arise and we want to support you. We provide access to mental health and emotional care services that are available to our volunteers and staff, 24/7.
On Call International provides free crisis intervention and short-term counseling services.
The International Fellowship of Chaplains (IFOC) provides free emotional care services to our volunteers and staff. Trained and licensed Chaplains offer counsel, education, advocacy, life improvement skills, and more.
