Templates for Google docs, slides, sheets etc.
Not only does google provide templates but we do too! Check out what All Hands and Hearts' templates exist by choosing navigating to "File>Create New > From Template"
This will open the relevant products' template gallery and you can browse and potentially use an amazing template!
Some stars of our template gallery are Project template (doc), Meeting agenda (Doc), Fortnightly report (slides)
Out of Office on your calendar
You can now create an event type on your google calendar of "Out of Office" and this will automatically decline all calls during this time period. You can even customise the decline message to let people know when you decline the invitation. Cool right? Well it gets better. If you add an Out of Office event to your calendar, and someone starts writing an email to you when your off, Gmail will warn that person that you are out of office and let them know when you are back at work - very smart Google, well done.
Schedule Emails
You can now schedule emails natively in Gmail without using an add on like Boomerang. Click the down arrow next to "Send" and you can set the day and time you want an email sent. These emails then sit in your "Scheduled" label to the left and you can adjust/cancel as you need before they are sent.
I just wanted to point out a couple of great updates google have released in the last few weeks that are really aimed at improving productivity and collaboration. Thanks Google.
The first update, that came through a few weeks ago, is the ability to reply to comments on google files (docs, sheets, slides etc.) within the email notification you receive. You no longer have to open the document itself. If someone replies before you get to the notification, your email and the comment thread will automatically update. You can even resolve comments from within the email.
With this release, there has never been a better time to start using and collaborating with google documents instead of microsoft products. This update creates a really seamless interface and a very effective work flow when collaborating across multiple people and teams.
The second update I wanted to highlight to everyone is the recent addition of "Priority" and "Workspaces" to google drive.
You can find your 'Priority" list on the left navigation block, now above "My Drive" on the browser. This is an auto populated list of your highest priority files. This is generated by google and will likely take into account most recent opens, ownership, # of comments you've made, # of comments you've receive, action items etc. Now you should be able to find what you need even quicker than searching using the file/folder naming tags!
Under this priority list you will see a space called "Workspaces" these are private organisational units that you can create and add up to 25 files from within drive to help you stay organised outside of the existing folder system. This is your own personal re-filing system where you can break free of the folder constraints and bring together all the files relating to an initiative, even if they appropriately live in seperate folders in Google Drive. This, of course, will be particularly useful for cross-departmental projects where file ownership and storage is scattered across the departmental drive folders.
Hopefully you're as excited about these updates as I am and will leverage these additional features to make your life easier! #worksmartnothard
I just wanted to warn you all about (another) malicious sender purporting to be Erik Dyson. The email address is ceooffice@clvazo.net.
We have added this sender to our blocked users list so no new emails will be delivered but some of you may have messages sent before today in your inbox. Please don't open these emails and delete them immediately.
If you do open an email accidentally please don't click any links and delete as soon as possible. It is then worth running a scan on your device and updating all operating systems as a precaution.
Thank you for everyone who reached out. Moving forward remember -
Does it make sense for the sender to be emailing you (only you) directly
Think before you click
