Unit 3.2 - Mammals

Unit Plan: Block 1

This unit explores the diversity of life within one specific group of animals, the mammals. In this unit the students will explore the origins and defining qualities of mammals that have made them an incredibly successful group on earth. They will identify key characteristics of mammals and how these have contributed to the great range of diversity seen in the mammals. Specific attention will be given to individual orders of both non-placental and placental mammals as the students gain a greater appreciation for the curiosity and wonder of nature.
