There's not a lot of early info on this building, but it was built in 1930 and was used as a warehouse for First National Stores. The warehouse would most likely close sometime around the early-mid 1960s. A Forest Hills outlet store would open in the majority of the former warehouse on May 10th 1967. A Grossman's lumber would open in some of the remaining space shortly after the opening of Forest Hills. A supermarket would fill the remaining space sometime around the late 60s to early 70s. Forest Hills would close in early January 1975 after the company's closure. Shortly after the closure of Forest Hills, Ames would announce they would open their 6th NH store in the space, and Ames would open on March 17th 1975. The supermarket would close sometime around 1985 - early '86. The Ames store would close in early 1990 and move to a newly constructed store 4 miles up the road in Woodsville. In late March 1996, Grossmans announced that they would be closing their remaining 60 locations in the Northeast, including this location. Grossman's closed in mid-May 1996. Starting shortly after the closure of Grossman's auctions would start being held in the plaza, selling fixtures, antiques, and other stuff. North Haverhill lumber would open in part of the complex in summer 1996. The auctioning in the plaza would end around the mid-2000s. The lumber company has changed hands and names throughout the years, with it being changed to Budget Lumber in the 2000s, and most recently KB Lumber in 2016.
