The Royal Ridge Mall opened in May 1974. The mall had 2 anchors Purity Supreme which opened June 16th 1974, and Marshalls which opened May 9th, 1974. The mall had 20 stores including a Pharmacity (later CVS Pharmacy) and Radio Shack. Around 1979, an addition to the Mall started construction next to Marshalls on the mall's exterior. A Zayre department store was added, and it opened in mid-late 1981. Ames Department stores took over the Zayre in early 1990. The Ames closed in 1993. In 1994, the mall was converted into a shopping plaza with marshals moving into part of the former mall interior and the former Ames was converted into 2 store spaces. Sports Authority opened in most of the former Ames in late summer 1994. Pet Stuff opened in October 1994 in the remaining space of former Ames . CompUSA opened in late October 1995. Purity Supreme closed in 1996, Shaw's later opened in the space and expanded the space. Pet Stuff was taken over by PetSmart in the late 1990s. In 2001, Marshall's was gutted and received a remodel after the roof collapsed during a snow storm in March 2001. Shaw's remodeled in the mid-2000s and received an Osco pharmacy. CompUSA closed Summer 2007. Osco Pharmacy closed in the Shaw's in 2009. Hallmark closed around 2009-2010 and was replaced by the paper store. Buy Buy Baby opened in 2010 in the former CompUSA. Sports Authority closed in spring 2016. Shaws received a renovation in mid-2017. On August 19th 2018, HomeGoods and Serria opened in the former Sports Authority. Buy Buy Baby closed in late summer 2023. Nordstrom Rack opened in the former Buy Buy Baby on April 24th 2025.
