Construction for the plaza began in mid-late 1974 and Kmart opened in early September 1975 along with the plaza and a restaurant spot that is a buffet. Strawberry Records would open in late 1980. In 1981 a stand-alone Toys R Us would be built west of the main buildings of the plaza on a small connecting road next to a building that was built in the late 60s before the plaza was built which had a ski shop in it. Toys R Us opened in July of 1981. In January 1982 Filene's Basement would open on the west side of the plaza as the second main anchor store. Later in August 1982, Chuck E. Cheese would open in the plaza next to Kmart most likely taking over a small part of the Kmart space. In June 1983 the property would be sold to a new property manager. In 1986 a small office building was built on the other side of the plaza's main access road. The office space would later close and part of the lower level was leased out to Blockbuster Video in 1988. In mid-October 1990 the ski mart next to Toys R Us closed. In mid-November 1990 Ken Jones Skis opened in the former office building on the upper level after buying most of the inventory of the closed ski mart that was next to Toys R Us. In 1991 the road connecting Toys R Us to the plaza would be extended for it to connect to newer businesses being built. Sometime in 1989-1990, the vacant building next to Toys R Us would be demolished and a Kids R Us would be built on the land and open. In 1992 Strawberry Records space would be expanded. In the summer of 1992, Toys R Us would receive an interior and exterior remodel converting the brown 1980s look to the newer white and rainbow checkers. In 1997 Kmart would receive an interior remodel. Filene's basement closed in early December 1999, and later liquidated early January 2000. The blockbuster video closed sometime in the 90s. In spring 2000 Kmart would receive the Big Kmart renovation. Also in 2000, Staples would open in a large part of the former Filene's Basement. Throughout the 2000s stores like Trimz and Hobby Town USA were in the remaining Filenes basement space. In 2002 Kmart would close after a wave of closing stores. Strawberries records would close sometime between 2002-2003. Burlington Coat Factory would open in the former Kmart space in early October 2003. Kids R Us closed in 2003 and was later demolished in October 2006. Chuck E. Cheese would be remodeled in 2005. A Nissan dealership would later be built on the land where Kids R Us was in 2007. Burlington Coat Factory would close in early 2011. Hobby Lobby would open in the former Burlington in late July 2011. In early 2014 a Texas roadhouse would open next door to the Hobby lobby attached to the build where the former Kmart auto center garage doors were. On December 7th, 2016 Harbor Fright would open next to Staples in the former Hobby Town USA. Toys R Us would close on June 27th 2018, after the company closed all its stores. Off-lease auto mall would open in the former Toys R Us on May 29th, 2021 and the former Toys R Us road sign would be converted into a sign for the Nissan dealership next door. In late 2023 Chuck E. Cheese was remodeled. In early October 2024 Wrap City opened.
