The plaza opened sometime in 1980 with the main tenants being an Ames department store and Farmfare IGA supermarket. In 1989 the plaza would expand with Ames getting an expansion of 15,500 Square feet and a new wing of the plaza being built next to the IGA. In 1993 a Pizza Hut was built in the parking lot. In September 1994 the IGA was bought out by a local grocery store and was renamed to Butson's IGA. In 1995 Movie gallery would most likely open in the former Video Smith store. In February 1996 the Rite Aid in the plaza closed and relocated to a larger stand-alone store down the street, Brooks pharmacy would later open in the former Rite Aid. In September 2002 Ames would close after the company filed for bankruptcy. In late October 2003, Shaw's supermarket would buy out the Butsons IGA and this store would reopen as Shaw's supermarket. Pizza Hut was closed and demolished in the mid-2000s. In 2005 Ocean State job lots would open in the former Ames space. In August 2013 the Ames color teal of the plaza would be painted blue. on December 31st 2019 Family Dollar would close. In late 2019 one credit union would be built in the plaza's parking lot.
