The plaza opened in fall 1987, with the anchor stores, Zayre which opened early August, Service Merchandise which opened around August-September, and a Purity Supreme supermarket. Halmark store would open in November 1987. Zayre would close in 1990 after being acquired by Ames the year before, The store closed because of its proximity to an already existing Ames down the road. On February 2nd 1993, Walmart would open and expand the former Zayre's space. Around summer 1996, the Purity Supreme would close. Staples would open in 1/2 of the former Purity Supreme on November 9th 1996. Big Lots would fill the remaining Purity Supreme space in July 2000. In late March 2002, Service Merchandise would close. In 2003, it was announced that the former service merchandise and surrounding stores would be demolished for a new Home Depot store, and the construction/demolition would start in Fall 2003. The Home Depot store would open around May-June 2004. Big Lots would close sometime in early 2008. Bed Bath & Beyond would fill the old Big Lots space in 2009. The Hallmark store would remodel in late 2014. The Paper Store would take over operations of the Hallmark store on September 21st, 2019. In early 2022, The Paper store moved out of the plaza and into the Plaistow Shopping Center down the street. Five Below will open in the former Paper store in Summer 2022. In Spring 2023, Bed Bath & Beyond closed. On June 10th 2025, Planet Fitness opened in the former Bed Bath & Beyond.
