Construction of the plaza would start in early 1982, with the plaza opening later that year with a Shaw's supermarket and an Osco Drug as the anchors. A movie theater would open next door to the plaza on May 25th 1983, and was the first O'Neil Cinemas location, but was called Apple Tree Cinema IV. Around late 1985, construction would start on an addition to the plaza consisting of an 80,000 sqft Zayre store, and more retail space. On June 8th 1986, Zayre opened. In June 1986, Big Value Outlet store opened next to Zayre. Around summer 1987, Big Value Outlet was replaced by Off Price Outlet stores, which didn't last long and closed around 1989. Ames would purchase all Zayre stores in 1988, and would reopen in October 1989 in the Zayre in this plaza. Ames didn't last long and closed in July 1991, after the chain's first bankruptcy. In September 1991, Shaws announced they would receive a 6,800 sqft addition, which was later completed in spring 1992. In early 1992, tjmaxx anounced they would open in the former Ames store, they would open on May 17th 1992, taking up 1/2 of the Ames space. Homegoods would later open their 5th store in the remaining half of the Ames on November 19th 1992, making that former Ames space one of the first combo Homegoods and Tjmaxx stores. In the early 2000s, the theater was rebranded as O'Neil Cinemas. Sometime around the 2000s, a Goodwill would eventually move into the space formerly occupied by the Off Price Outlet store. After the sale of Osco Drug to Brooks in early 2002, Brooks chose not to reopen this Osco Drug and closed it because of its close proximity to another Brooks store. In 2003, Shaws would receive another addition and full remodel, and would absorb the former Osco drug next door. The remodel started in July 2003 and ended in mid-late 2004. Goodwill would close around fall 2014. Carmike Cinemas would take over operations of the cinema on September 26th 2014. In May 2016, the TJ Maxx/HomeGoods would close and relocate to a newly constructed store down the street. In 2017, the Carmike Cinemas rebranded to AMC after it was acquired by them in late 2016. In Early-mid 2019, Dollar Tree would open in the former Goodwill. Xtreme Craze would open in the former Home Goods on February 15th 2019. In fall 2020, Planet Fitness would open in the former TJ Maxx. AMC would close on September 15th 2024. O'Neil Cinemas would return, and would remodel, and open in the former AMC on November 11th 2025.
