Bradlees opened on October 12th, 1962, along with Bradlees Discount Foods. It was a large store with 24 checkout lanes- 10 in the discount foods which was 27,000 sqft, and 14 in the department store. It was the first Bradlees in New Hampshire. Around the time of Bradlee's opening, an IHOP would be built next to the store. Stop and Shop later took over the Bradlees Discount Foods space in the mid-'60s. Sometime in the late 60s-70s, Bradlees would expand south, building next to and behind IHOP. Stop and Shop closed around 1978 and was replaced by an Economy Food Outlet around October 1978. Bradlees closed around late 1982- early 1983 and would move to South Willow St, around the same time Economy Food Outlet closed. IHOP remained for some years until closing in the mid-late 1980s and being demolished. Allen-Bradley purchased the Bradlees/Stop & Shop on February 10th 1983, and opened an electronic switch factory and offices in the former space, which was later renamed Rockwell Automation. It closed sometime in 2005 and was put on the market on November 9th 2005. The property sat vacant for 5 years until being purchased by Market Basket in November 2010. Construction started in early 2011 with demolition of the store, leaving only the original foundation on which the market basket was built on. Market basket opened April 24th 2012 (Market Basket #67). Title Boxing Club opened to the right of the Market Basket in 2015. In 2018, the space to the left of the Market Basket was filled by a dental office.
