The Mall of New Hampshire opened on September 20th, 1977 with 3 main anchors Lechmere, Filene's, and Sears. The Sears opened earlier on July 18. Lechmere and Filenes opened after the mall did on October 3rd and August 11th respectively. The Lechmere store was the 5th in the chain and was the first store outside of Massachusetts. Through early-mid 1982 Lechmere was remodeled to a new store prototype which later proved successful, causing remodels to more stores. CVS pharmacy opened in late 1992. Disney store opened in the spring of 1996 in the center of the mall. Herman's Sporting Goods closed in May 1996 and later became Olympia Sports. From early 1996 through to late 1998, the mall revived a huge remodel. The first of the remodels was the rebranding of the mall including new signage. The mall was expanded to a 4 anchor mall from early 1996 to early 1998 with the original filenes being demolished and replaced with a new wing to the mall making the original "T" Shape of the mall into a loop. The first to be built was the new 2-story Filenes opening in November 1996. After Filenes relocated the old store was demolished and construction of the new wing and JCpenny started. The new wing would open sometime in 1997 with a Ruby Tuesday. Burtichis opened in the new wing in late 1997. In November 1997 Lechmere would close. In early 1998 the food court was expanded and remodeled. In April 1998 the 2-story JCPenny would open. in june 1998 the food court would reopen, concluding most of the expansion. BestBuy would open in a large part of the former Lechmere in mid-October 1998 with Kitchen Etc. Shortly after filling the rest of the former Lechmere space. In 2001 a stand-alone Long Horn Steakhouse and TGI Fridays would open in the upper parking lot. The ground round closed in early February 2004, which was located in the food court since the mall's opening. A men's Wearhouse would later open in the former ground round. In late summer 2004 at Kitchen Etc. Closed after the whole chain went under, and was later replaced by an A.C. Moore Crafts store. B. Dalton bookstore would close in early 2005 after the store's lease expired. Along with B. Dalton and a few other adjacent stores, all became one big Old Navy store which later opened in May 2005. Suncoast closed in early 2006. In 2006 Filenes was renamed to Macy's after the company was bought out by them. In early 2011 Ulta Beauty opened in a former finish line and a former Gazooks store. On July 19th, 2013 the Disney store closed. Mid-2013 JCPenny received a small remodel which included Saphora opening in the store on October 25th, 2013. On October 18th, 2014 an Apple store opened in the former Disney store. On November 23rd, 2014 Buffalo Wild Wings opened in the food court and some surrounding mall stores, and an outdoor entrance was created. A.C. Moore closed September-October 2015. In mid-February 2016 Glow Golf would open in the former A.C. Moore but was only open for a year or two. On June 1st, 2018 Macy Backstage opened on the bottom floor of Macy's after downsizing a few departments. Sears closed on November 25th, 2018 after being the longest-lasting anchor in the mall's history. An Xfinity store opened in part of the former Glow Golf and the former A.C. Moore Entrance was repurposed as a new mall entrance. Two other stores would open in the rest of the Glow golf throughout 2019 with Cycle Gear opening on July 20th, 2019. In 2019 Dicks Sporting Goods and Dave & Busters would announce they would open in the former Sears. Dicks Sporting Goods opened on November 1st, 2019, and Dave & Busters originally was going to open on March 30th, 2020 but got pushed back to August 24th, 2020. During the construction of Dicks Sporting Goods part of the former Sears and the full Sears auto center was demolished and parking was put there. In September 2022 Olympia sports closed. In late November 2022, the mall received new black and white Simon Mall signs. On December 5th, 2022 Burtichis closed. In late September 2024, Eastern Mountain Sports closed. On January 6th 2025, TGI Fridays closed. Boot Barn opened in the former Olympia Sports space on March 24th 2025. In May 2025, Forever 21 closed. On October 22nd 2025, Toys R Us opened in the former Forever 21 space.
