Construction on plaza started in early 1985. Northside Plaza opened sometime in 1986, with the main anchor store being Alexander's Supermarket. The plaza has a sister plaza that opened around the same time in 1986 called the East Side Plaza on the other side of Manchester, They were both built by the same developer. The Alexander's most likely closed sometime in 1990 after the company got bought out by Shop 'n Save (Hannafords). In 1991 Shop 'n Save opened in the former Alexander's space. In May 1995, Total Video was bought and replaced by Home Vision Video. In the late 90s, Movie Gallery replaced Home Vision Video after its acquisition in 1996. Later in 2002, the Shop 'n Save would be renamed to Hannafords. In the late 2000s, the Hannaford entrance would be relocated and remodeled. In early 2008 the movie gallery rental store closed. Soon after the movie gallery closed the NH liquor store located at the end of the plaza would move into the former movie gallery space. Workout club would open in the old liquor store space afterward. In mid 2024 the interior of Hannafords would be fully remodeled. In early March 2025, the NH liquor store would temporarily close, but was permanently closed july 18th 2025.
