Let's go to the city, or just another town! Here on another AC Town Tour, we're going to visit the colorful town of Sachi Panda, where fame, drugs and mayhem rule the night.
No, seriously.
For those of us just joining the tours, Animal Crossing: New Leaf boasts new features like visiting another person's town online as a dream walking experience. For a modest fee, you can wreck havoc in a random town with no repercussion on the real town (its an uploaded copy of one's town). Last time, we visited Diablu. This week, we're gonna see some really weird ass shit.
Now that's the view you get upon "waking" into the town, surrounded by the face of a girl, and a creepy date of 3/13/13, along with a cryptic message in japanese. "It can't be helped that you were cursed."THE FUCK.
The two accessories on the ground are a tulip hat and a pair of swirly glasses.
Pay attention to this get up, you'll be seeing it again.
There's a fortune cookie on the ground, and this is the fortune.
Hmm....this sounds familiar....
Here's the town flag...its a little on the creepy side, but the name of the town makes sense.
Sachi Panda has neat town features like a special pattern that looks like a water grate, and some neat public works like an archway, and a sphinx. Of course, one townsperson that I tracked down has an ominous shirt pattern. Hmmm....
Checking the weather report....
Cloudy with a chance of MURDER!
OOOOOORRRRR IS IT? Wait....
Here's the first house, if you move left from the town tree plaza, keeping towards the top. A nice unassuming house that's occupied by a girl dressed as a bunny with a children's smock kind of shirt. Her name translates roughly as Iruha (if I'm to recall my hiragana correctly @_@), and she has an interesting thing to say (roughly): "...imo...toga... oni...tsute...ru..." I think its missing words.
Her house is here, which looks nice and normal, excepting right behind her are some black pump shoes sitting near the river and by some holes.... Intriguing.
Inside Iruha's house seems like a normal little place. An apartment interior with all her amenities taken care of, including cake.
The other side of the home, which has only a single ground floor extension, is blocked by a table, so its anyone's guess what's behind it.
There's only an upstairs place, which leads up to a bedroom of some sort, crammed full of children's toys and balloon furniture. There's also canvases of a rabbit girl that appear to be based on Chrissy and Francine, which grace the cover of K.K. Slider's K.K. Bubblegum album cover. Also note, the tv is blaring white noise.
Iruha's home appears to belong to a girl whose a fan of the rabbit pair, or perhaps is meant to represent the rabbit girls. Without proper translations at the moment, its anyone's guess.
Moving past Iruha's home, kicking closed some of the holes in the ground by the black pumps, you find another house.
Belonging to a male in those swirly glasses and tulip hat, Umii's place looks rather rag tag and rundown, and is marked by police tape and a mysterious canvas of japanese.
Rough romanji: "tsumato...yamiiga... yondeiru". "Smart (?) darkness is calling". It should be noted that he speaks in a combination of hiragana and katakana. Feels like it might say "first one's free, kids".
Umii's place is probably one of the more freakier homes in the town. Its first floor appears spartan in design with the japanese on a canvas and bare except for a huge bookcase hiding the back room and various trash and barrels around the floor. There's a japanese doll standing guard at the back, with another kokeshi doll facing the wall.
Let's check upstairs first, where the second floor's room is stark and empty except for a jacket, a trash can, and with it cordoned off with more police tape canvases.
Its smacks of illicit activities, but we don't know til we visit that little room in the back of the first floor.
Well well well now. Looks like "Jr.'s First Drug Lab". Yes, this is exactly what it looks like, with artificial lighting for the myriad of plants, burning incense, watering cans, bags of the finished product (or "medicine" which is normally used in game for curing sick neighbors), and of course a briefcase full of caaaaaaassssh, bitches!
Yes, the briefcase full of cash IS an obtainable item in NL.
Good thing they don't make it rain in AC cuz their currency is hard ass coinage.
The bottom basement level of Umii's place is the craziest shit you'll probably ever see in AC.
Get your bad drug trip done in the comfort of Umii's basement, complete with a hospital bed, 4 wailing theremins and a customized BADACIDTRIP wallpaper and flooring. Seriously, this room was INTENSE.
Holy shiiiiiiit, this shit's POTENT YO.
Outside Umii's place, right at the coast, you can see some meds outside and the unfortunate end to Chrissy, surrounded by the stuff that dreams and nightmares are made of--mostly the latter.
Kids. Don't do drugs. They will MESS YOU UP.
The main house on the map, which belongs to the mayor of the town, Yamii. Her house is surrounded by dead trees, holes, and looks like a sumptuous castle, if castles were made of corrugated tin and leaky roofs. It also has a path that leads into the courtyard, if you will, to the house, which is headed by the picture of the girl's head we saw plastered all over the town square in the beginning:
Rough romanji: "kokowa netashino yumeto kioku". Someone in there is "here is my dream and memory". Again, a mix of hiragana and katakana.
Inside is a freaky wonderland of sensory overload. With K.K. Oasis blaring out from the speakers, rotating game show wheels running and wailing theremins, this room really runs full tilt into your face like so much Aphex Twin. The sickly pink/red light is due to ambient pink light from the lamps, which show on the outside too (the holes in the outside of the walls as well as the small window on the front door. All around are copies of the girl's picture we saw earlier, leering and grotesquely twisted into a hideous grin. Looks like those drugs must be kicking in.Judy Garland she ain't.
The left hand room looks to be a "green room" to the hellish gameshow clown freak room, where K.K. albums line the walls, the tv plays white noise, and various things are strewn around the room haphazardly, as if there was someone getting ready to perform. Its rather run of the mill, a stark but still just as pink contrast to the outer room.
The right hand room is also a stark contrast to the front room and the left room. It looks like a house, in obvious neglect, with a mother type figure and a young girl in a school girl outfit and pigtails. There is trash and books on the ground, not to mention a single gyroid--namely a freakoid, screaming in the back. It might be interpreted that the gyroid's screaming represents a screaming fight between mother and daughter, but again, its left up to interpretation. Its obvious this story here is part of the home, perhaps relating to the outside room and the green room. Note that Yamii's hair is the same as this mannequin, so it might represent her.
The top room looks rather different than the rest of the room. It seems to resemble a pawn shop or second hand shop, noted by the numerous and unrelated items all over and packing the room, sitting on boxes and mismatched tables. I don't know the kanji here, but its repeated on the stool and the hard to see LED board hung up in a corner.
In the back is a familiar sight...the tulip hat and swirly glasses appear on the mannequin, so we can possibly surmise that the figure represents our old friend Umii. What he's doing here in this pawn shop is a mystery, at least so far. There is a doll just like the one in his house, so they might be related. Something tells me he might not be in the market for a book....
The light in this room, contrasting with downstairs which is red, and the broken home, which is just left dark, is a sickly green. Perhaps there's something more to Umii being here than meets the eye?
There's one room left, and of course, its the worst for last.
Ah. The kill floor. What creepy town would be without one? There's an ambient blue light through here, so its quite different than Diablu's kill floor. With K.K. Oasis still playing, it lends a very unsettling feeling wandering around the blood spattered room.
Ah, but in the back is something rather disturbing. Umii looks like he's taken care of Yumii and her mother, with their "severed" heads in the back, an axe by his feet, and nice bloodied clothing/bodies before him. he's also got his tub and shower ready for washing up. Behind, by the larger soaking tubs, is a meat freezer. Perhaps to store the rest of the pieces?
Ah how dangerous fame can be....
Another interesting feature in the town is a standee you can stick your face in, and who should it be but Sachi Panda's beloved drug peddler Umii. The kanji is a little hard to read, but there you go.
The loud and obnoxious jacket he's wearing actually is an obtainable piece of clothing, notably for you sharp-eyed AC fans: Dr. Shrunk's Jacket. The only thing more unfunny than Shrunk himself.
Think you're up to exploring Sachi Panda on your own? Check out the town's dream code and check it out for yourself. Just remember, kids. Don't do drugs. They'll only make you see some really weird ass shit.
Seriously. Don't do drugs.
