Tanya Stone
Article by Alan Trout
Tanya Stone’s one win over jumps came at Huntingdon on May 10, 1990, when the six-year-old Prix du Nord, having alternated for the lead with Glenstall Abbey throughout the Woolly Selling Hurdle, finally got the better of his rival and pulled away to win by a Length and a half.
Prix du Nord was trained by former National Hunt jockey Ken Wingrove, for whom Tanya rode as a conditional. The gelding had managed two third places from six starts that season. Tanya had been in the saddle for the second of those and kept the ride for two subsequent disappointing efforts.
