Brian Storey

Brian, the son of permit holder Fred Storey, was born on May 17, 1962, and rode his first winner - Come On Steve - at Perth on October 15, 1981.

He rode around 500 winners and enjoyed his best season in 1996-97 with 48 wins.

He retired at the end of 2002.

Brian was born with a foot deformity - his left leg was slightly shorter than his right.

Before going racing, Brian would milk a herd of cows each morning.

He was lucky with injuries, only suffering one broken leg throughout.
