Kevin Roy Supple rode one winner on the Flat, followed seven years later by another one under National Hunt rules.
The first of those two victories came at Folkestone on May 12, 1977, when Kirsty Girl made virtually all the running and beat Miss Meg by two lengths in the Chatham Stakes for two-year-old fillies. Kevin kept the ride for the filly’s next two starts before Pat Eddery took over in the saddle. Although he held an apprentice’s licence for two more seasons he had to be content with that one win on the level.
He had his first ride under National Hunt rules at Southwell on October 4, 1982, when Bihas Bounty finished sixth of a dozen runners in the Morton Conditional Jockeys’ Novices’ Hurdle.
It was not until May 15, 1984 that he had his second win when Normazoo took the lead over a furlong from the finish and held the challenge of Count Frederick to take Folkestone’s Grunwick N.H. Flat Race by a head. It was the four-year-old’s first run under National Hunt rules and she never ran again.
Kevin had his final ride at Towcester on May 24, 1985, when Mr Darkie finished fifth in the Fermoor Handicap Chase.
