Images

The Image Editor below allows you to link an unlimited number of images to a Transaction or to an Item. Image formats that are supported include .jpg, .png and .svg.

Images

Even though the module is named Images, functionality is provided to add any file into the Image viewer. When they are linked to Items, files can be opened or e-mailed from the Item Summary.

Images that are linked to transactions, can be output on the transaction templates.

If images are uploaded for output purposes only, it is recommended that images with a dpi of 150dpi are used.

Transactions

Images can be linked to Transactions by clicking on Menu > View/Edit Images. Images linked to a Transaction can in turn be Output on a Quotation letter or other document. (Using the data pipeline Trans_Images).

The linked images are copied when the Transaction is copied.

To prevent duplication, the same images can be linked to multiple Transactions as follows:

  • Open an Transaction and click on Menu > View/Edit Images.

  • Set the Images filter to All and click the View button.

  • Click the ... button on the Image you want to link and select the option to link the image to the open transaction.

  • When complete, click on the transaction > Menu > View/Edit Images to see the linked Images.

Items

Images can be linked to Items by click on Menu > View/Edit Images.

To prevent duplication, the same images can be linked to multiple Items as follows:

  • Open an Item and click on Menu > View/Edit Images.

  • Set the Images filter to All and click the View button.

  • Click the ... button on the Image you want to link and select the option to link the image to the open item.

  • When complete, click on the Item > Menu > View/Edit Images to see the linked Images.

Item Summary

Images linked to an Item can be viewed in Item Summary > Images

You can toggle between the Image and list view using the Menu > Image View/List View

Functionality is provided to select one or more images and e-mail them as attachments by using Menu > E-mail selected Images.

General Settings > Images

  • Folder - eg. C:\Temp\Images\ - This is the folder where images will be stored permanently or temporarily before they can be opened. The path must be accessible to all users.

  • Store images in database - Determines whether images are stored in the database or in the folder specified above. Functionality is provided to copy/move images from the folder to the database and vice versa. Images are saved to the folder in the format ID.ext - ie. the Image ID + the file extension. This prevents images from being overwritten if another image with the same name is uploaded.

Transaction Types

Images can be linked to Transaction Types if the Setup > Transaction Types > Images setting is checked.

Menu Manager

The Images module can be added to the Main Menu or to the Tile Menu using the Menu Manager - select Fixed Module > Images.
