The Cost of Sales Module is a Reporting module where you can see the Costs linked to any Sales Order or Work Order. This includes all the cascading costs that are linked to a Transaction. eg. The costs for a Sales Order will include costs that are directly linked to the Sales Order as well as Costs that are linked to Work Orders which were created from the Sales Order.
Main Menu > Setup > Transaction Types > Costing Rules
Transaction Type - This lookup allows you to specify which Module the Costing Rules apply to, and to see all the Costing Rules at a glance.
Cost Type - This drop-down specifies what the type of cost incurred against the above Transaction:
Stock Issued - This is allocated to the cost of stock that is issued from Transactions linked to the selected Module.
Stock Returned - This is allocated to the cost of stock returned for Transactions linked to the selected Module.
Purchases - This is allocated to the cost of purchases for Transactions linked to the selected Module.
Timekeeping - This is allocated to the Production time logged against Transactions linked to the selected Module.
Transaction - This specifies the Transaction that is checked for the specified Cost Type against the selected Module.
