Items Setup

Main Menu > Setup > Items

  1. Category - This allows you to select the Items in a certain Category. This Category list is accessed by clicking Menu > Edit Categories.

  2. Supplier - This allows you to select Items by Supplier.

  3. Location - This allows you to view Items in a certain Location. This is accessed by clicking Menu > Edit Locations.

  4. Item Type - This setting controls how Items are added to a Transaction. Options include:

    • Component - This is for Items that form part of a finished product. More here.

    • Material - This is for Items that are material items used in production.

    • Service - This is for services that support the manufacturing process.

    • Entity - This is for any income-generating Item. More here.

    • Other - This is for Items that fall outside of the scope of options above.

  5. Inventory Items - Selecting this check box will show Items that have been set as Inventory Items only.

  6. Description - This is the name of the Item.

  7. Code - This is the Nickname for the Transaction Type.

  8. Category - This is the Item's Category.

  9. Sub-Category - This is the Item's Sub-Category. This lookup list can be edited by selecting the Item > Menu > Edit Sub Category Lookup List.

  10. Type - This shows the Item Type.

  11. Entities - This shows if this Item is an Entity.

  12. Resolve - This shows how the Item is replenished.

  13. Customer - This shows if the Item is linked to a specific Customer.

  14. Unit - This shows the default unit of the Item.

  15. Minimum - This shows the minimum stock value for this Item before more should be ordered.

  16. In Stock - This shows how many units of this Item are in stock, if it is an inventory item.

  17. On Order - This shows how many units are on order with Suppliers.

  18. Reserved - This shows how many units are reserved by being linked to a transaction.

  19. Available - This shows how many units are available for new transactions.

  20. Active - This shows if the Items are active and available for transactions.

  21. Colour - This shows if the Item has a colour assigned to it for ease of reference.
