A Delivery Note is a document accompanying a shipment of goods that lists the description, and quantity of the goods delivered. A copy of the delivery note, signed by the buyer or consignee, is returned to the seller or consignor as a proof of delivery.

Navigate to Setup > Transaction Types > Edit.
Click Add. A new record will appear at the bottom of the screen. You will note that some fields are auto-populated already.
If there is no mention of a tab(s) in this topic, it is because no changes are required during setup of this Transaction Type.
The defaults for Transaction Types only require a small amount of change. The only fields to change are:
Description - Enter 'Delivery Note'.
Code - Enter 'DN'. This is the 'nickname' of the Transaction Type.
Contacts - Select Customers - Active. This is so that users will only be able to create a new Delivery Note for customers if their accounts are up to date and they have not exceeded their credit limits.
These are dependent on the other Transaction Types that need to be linked to Delivery Notes. For a more in-depth explanation of Copy Rules, click here.
Delivery Notes to Customer Invoices (CI) - This allows you to create a Customer Invoices transaction linked to the Credit Note.
A template can be setup for Delivery Notes. More on Templates here.
Delivery Notes can be modified to include:
Delivery Note - 2up
This is an example of a Delivery Note - 2up.
This allows you to set access levels for specific users when it comes to creating, and editing, Customer Invoices. This is useful when you need exercise control against job roles.
Set the Users, Roles, Role Settings, User Roles, and User Settings as laid out in the User Access topic - more here.
