Distribution: Southern-central and southern CHILE to southwestern ARGENTINA.

Seed viability: Unknown.
Specimen: BS-0754 [-] (seeds), Chile, without precise locality. Seeds received from C. F. M. B. as "Chusquea montana (2433)", 21 May 2012.
Seed weight: Not recorded.
Seed germination: Most seeds were stored cool above freezing point, and a few seeds stayed below freezing point for 5 days, then laid on moistened tissue paper, and in coir dust at 100%, in late May, 28–31 °C day temperature, diffuse light, 22–24 °C night temperature, atmospheric humidity >70%. Seeds did not germinate for no apparent reason; none of the seeds showed any signs of fungal infection.
