Malay name: buloh bersumpitan.
Distribution: THAILAND (South), confined to Yala Province, at 1,300–1,500 m altitude. — MALAYSIA (Peninsular): Perak, in mountain forest at 1,500–2,000 m altitude. — VIETNAM (South Central): Khánh Hòa Province, Lâm Đồng Province, Đắk Lắk Province, at 500–1,600 m altitude.
Culm size: Length 12–18 m, diameter 1.5–2.5 (4) cm.

Characteristics: Rhizomes pachymorph, short-necked. Culms arching over to the ground if not supported by surrounding trees. Culm-internodes very long, 1–1.5 m, or sometimes up to 2.5 m long, yellow shining, thin-walled. Culm-nodes with a ring of patent hairs, without aerial roots. Culm-leaves unknown. Foliage-leaf auricles small, with 6–12 mm long bristles. Foliage-leaf ligule short. Foliage-leaf blades lanceolate, 15–25 cm long, 2–3 cm wide, glabrous.
Uses: Culm internodes used for making blow-pipes.
Comments: Flowers are known.
