  • Comments: Indocalamus is a genus of over 20 species endemic to China, concentrated in southern and eastern regions, and a single species endemic to southern Japan. Species of Indocalamus have leptomorph rhizomes with an invasive underground growth habit, they are shrubby bamboos with thin culms, persistent culm sheaths, and rather large leaves, and usually develop on a node one branch only, which is long and almost of the same diameter as its culm. At present only one species is known to have been introduced into Thailand.
