    • Description: "… Rhizomes short; pachymorph. Culms scandent; 30 mm diam.; woody. Culm-internodes terete; hollow; 50 cm long. Lateral branches dendroid. Culm-sheaths 18 cm long; hispid; with black hairs. Leaf-sheaths glabrous on surface. Leaf-sheath oral hairs setose; 2 mm long. Ligule an eciliate membrane; 0.5–1 mm long. Leaf-blade base with a brief petiole-like connection to sheath. Leaf-blades lanceolate; 10–20 cm long; 12–25 mm wide.     • Comments:

    • (1) A distribution of Chloothamnus elegantissimus in Thailand and Vietnam was stated in the World Checklist of Bamboos and Rattans, 2016: p. 131, under "Nastus elegantissimus" [#1221], but a natural occurrence in these countries is most unlikely.

    • (2) No records were found on the introduction of Chloothamnus elegantissimus into Thailand.
