Ms. Szuba
My name is Ms. Szuba and this is my 8th year at VHS. I taught APUSH and US history at VHS from 2016-2023. I left to go on an adventure in another district for a couple years, but now I am excited to be back at VHS teaching AP World History as well as psychology and sociology.
I grew up here in the Lake-Sumter county area, graduating from Mt. Dora High School in 1990. I earned my bachelor of science degree in social science education from the University of South Florida in 1996. In 2010, I earned a masters degree in curriculum, instruction, and assessment from Walden University.
I have been teaching for 26 years, this school year is 27 years for me. I taught middle school for 16 years, and high school for eight years. I spent two years as a social studies curriculum specialist in Lake County, supporting grades 6-12 social studies teachers.
I have taught world history, civics, Florida studies, geography, and US history. I'm looking forward to adding psychology and sociology to the list!
I live in The Villages with my husband, my two dogs, and my very, very old cat.
