Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! I can't want to work with your students as we dance together!

Just a bit of information about me, I am in my twenty first year of teaching with it being my seventh here at TVCS. I was a dancer growing up in a dance studio, a member of my competitive high school dance team, and continued dancing in college at both Valencia College in their dance program and at the University of Central Florida where I was a member of the UCF Dance Team! In addition, I taught dance for 22 summers as a Universal Dance Association Head Instructor at dance camps designed for elementary through college age dancers. I currently judge dance competitions for Universal Dance Association (UDA), National Dance Alliance (NDA), United States All Star Federation (USASF), Stage 8 Dance Brands, and Varsity All Star, with those companies giving me the opportunity to judge both nationally and internationally! 

On top of being a Dance Instructor I am also the VHS Golden Girl Director here at VHS! I am honored to coach the Varsity and JV Golden Girls, at times working with our Middle School Golden Girls at Buffalo Ridge and Middleton, and our Youth Golden Girls at both campuses! I'm looking forward to an exciting year as we learn more about dance and all the different genres it has to offer!

The order form is due by Monday, August 10th. Payment for items ordered is due on Friday, August 14th.

DANCE CLASS PERFORMANCE DATES FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

1. VCS Dance Winter Concert - December 9th (Middleton Night) and December 10th (Buffalo Ridge Night) - VHS Dancers will  perform in BOTH shows! Dress rehearsal on Monday, December 7, 2026 from 3:00PM - 4:00PM at The Tracy

2. VCS Dance Choreography Showcase - March 3, 2027 (Buffalo Ridge Night) and March 4, 2027 (Middleton Night) - Dress Rehearsal on Monday, March 1, 2027 from 3:00PM - 5:30PM

3. VCS Spring Dance Concert at The Tracy - Rehearsals TBD - Performances will take place on the following dates: 

   1. Thursday, May 13, 2027

   2. Friday, May 14, 2027

   3. Saturday, May 15, 2027

   4. Sunday, May 16, 2027

• Spiral notebook (1 subject)

SUPPLY LIST FOR ALL DANCE CLASSES AND GOLDEN GIRLS

• One of the following (depending on the 1st letter of your last name)

  • A-H: 1 large box of Kleenex or Clorox (or equivalent) wipes

  • I-P: 1 pack of hair ties (30 count or higher)

  • Q-Z:1 pack of Bandaids (30 count of higher)

VCS Golden Girl Information

The Villages Charter Schools offers an elite dance program called the Golden Girls. These consist of the following: 

• VHS Varsity Golden Girls

• VHS JV Golden Girls

• VCMS Golden Girls Buffalo Ridge

• VCMS Golden Girls Middleton

All programs perform at football games, basketball games, community events, and competitions throughout the school year! To join these programs, dancers must audition in the spring.

Youth Golden Girls (5th grade) - Buffalo Adventures

This group can be joined through Buffalo Adventures and provides a unique opportunity for 5th grade dancers to get a sneak peak at the Golden Girl experience! Youth Golden Girls will be offered at both the Buffalo Ridge and Middleton campuses and members will meet once a week to work on flexibility, dance skill training, and learn a performance routine! Their performances will include the VCS Winter Concert, VCS Choreography Showcase, a dance competition in March, and the annual VCS Spring Dance Concert in May!

27-28 VHS Golden Girl Tryout Information

Tryout Clinic Dates: March 15th & 16th, 2027 from 4:00PM - 6:00PM

Audition Date: March 17th starting at 3:00PM 

Auditions will begin with rising 12th grade candidates for the 27-28 school year. All current 9th - 11th graders should report at 3:00PM. All 8th grade candidates should report by 4:00PM.

Meetings are required for all potential inductees and are open to current Juniors and Seniors!  All inducted members must attend each meeting to keep their eligibility status!
