Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! I can't want to work with your students as we dance together!

Just a bit of information about me, I am in my twentieth year teaching with it being my sixth here at TVCS. I was a dancer growing up in a dance studio, a member of my competitive high school dance team, and continued dancing in college at both Valencia College in their dance program and at the University of Central Florida where I was a member of the UCF Knightmoves Dance Team! In addition, I taught dance for 22 summers as a Universal Dance Association Head Instructor at dance camps designed for elementary through college age dancers. I currently judge dance competitions for Universal Dance Association (UDA), National Dance Alliance (NDA), United States All Star Federation (USASF), Stage 8 Dance Brands, and Varsity All Star, with those companies giving me the opportunity to judge both nationally and internationally! 

In addition to being a Dance Instructor I am also the VHS Golden Girl Director here at VHS! I am honored to coach the Varsity and JV Golden Girls, at times working with our Middle School Golden Girls at Buffalo Ridge and Middleton, and our Youth Golden Girls at both campuses! I'm looking forward to an exciting year as we learn more about dance and all the different genres it has to offer!

VCS Golden Girl Information

The Villages Charter Schools offers an elite dance program called the Golden Girls. These consist of the following: 

• VHS Varsity Golden Girls

• VHS JV Golden Girls

• VCMS Golden Girls Buffalo Ridge

• VCMS Golden Girls Middleton

All programs perform at football games, basketball games, community events, and competitions throughout the school year! To join these programs, dancers must audition in the spring. 

26-27 VHS Golden Girl Open Clinic Information

The Golden Girls will be holding an Open Clinic on Wednesday, February 25th from 4:00 - 6:00PM in the VHS Main Gym! This will be followed by a Informational Parent Meeting at 6:00PM in The Tracy Performing Arts Center. Both parents and potential Golden Girl candidates are encouraged to attend this meeting!

Where is the clinic held? VHS Main Gym - Meet at the glass doors located in between The Tracy Performing Arts Center and the Buffalo Sports Complex at 3:55PM for entry. 

What time is the clinic? 4:00PM - 6:00PM

What do I need to attend? All attendees must have a current VCS Athletic Clearance on file for the 25-26 school year in addition to having a parent complete the form above. Please see your campus Athletic Office and/or Front Office for more information. 

What should I wear for the clinic? Comfortable dance attire: black leotard or fitted black tank with black fitted shorts or black leggings. Jazz shoes or pirouettes are preferred footwear, but sneakers are permitted. Please have hair pulled back in a ponytail or bun and no jewelry. 

What should I bring for the clinic? water, paper and pen for notes

What will the clinic focus on? Attendees will go through a traditional Golden Girl warm-up and learn the skills required for tryouts in March. In addition the sideline material and choreography that will be required for auditions will be taught. This is an open clinic and dancers of all levels are welcome to attend! We will help you out with new skills and movement and answer questions that you have about the Golden Girl program!

Parent Meeting to follow at 6:00PM in The Tracy Performing Arts Center! We will review all required paperwork for tryouts and answer general questions about the Golden Girl Program and our expectations!

26-27 VHS Golden Girl Tryout Information

Tryout Clinic Dates: March 16th & 17th from 4:00PM - 6:00PM

Audition Date: March 18th starting at 3:00PM 

Auditions will begin with rising 12th grade candidates for the 26-27 school year. All current 9th - 11th graders should report at 3:00PM. All 8th grade candidates should report by 4:00PM.

Youth Golden Girls (4th & 5th grade) - Buffalo Adventures

This group can be joined through Buffalo Adventures and provides a unique opportunity for 4th & 5th grade dancers to get a sneak peak at the Golden Girl experience! Youth Golden Girls will be offered at both the Buffalo Ridge and Middleton campuses and members will meet once a week to work on flexibility, dance skill training, and learn a performance routine! Their performances will include the VCS Winter Concert, VCS Choreography Showcase, a dance competition in March, and the annual VCS Spring Dance Concert in May!

1. VCS Dance Winter Concert - December 10th (Middleton Night) and December 11th (Buffalo Ridge Night) - VHS Dancers will  perform in BOTH shows! Dress rehearsal on Monday, December 8, 2025 from 3:00PM - 4:00PM at The Tracy

2. VCS Dance Choreography Showcase - March 4, 2026 (Middleton Night) and March 5, 2026 (Buffalo Ridge Night) - Dress Rehearsal on Monday, March 2, 2026 from 3:00PM - 4:00PM (Dance 3 & 4) and Tuesday, March 3, 2026 3:00PM - 4:30PM (Dance 1 & 2) at The Tracy

3. VCS Spring Dance Concert at The Tracy - Rehearsals TBD - Performances will take place on the following dates:
