Learning Beyond   the Classroom 

Discover Spain: Madrid, Granada & Seville

One of my favorite parts of teaching is helping students discover that learning extends beyond textbooks and classroom walls. Educational travel gives students the opportunity to experience new cultures, explore different environments, and develop confidence through firsthand experiences. These experiences often become some of the most memorable and meaningful parts of a student's educational journey.

I am leading an educational travel experience to Spain in June 2028. Our 10-day journey will give students the opportunity to encounter history, art, architecture, and culture beyond the classroom. We will explore the vibrant streets and world-class museums of Madrid, witness the passion and energy of a traditional flamenco performance in Granada, and walk through the magnificent Alhambra, where centuries of Islamic and Christian history come together. In Seville, students will experience the grandeur of its cathedral and historic neighborhoods before traveling south to the Costa del Sol and Gibraltar. Along the way, students will also get a glimpse of everyday Spanish life—from local markets and plazas to visiting centuries-old almond and olive farms and sharing a traditional meal with local residents. This trip is more than sightseeing; it is an opportunity to discover the people, places, and traditions that have shaped Spain’s remarkable cultural heritage. Beyond the destinations themselves, travel encourages curiosity, independence, confidence, and a broader understanding of our interconnected world
