About Me:

I enjoy helping students connect what they learn in the classroom to the world around them through history, government, economics, religion, and the humanities. My goal is to help students develop the knowledge and critical thinking skills they need to understand both the past and the world they are helping to shape.

A little more about me:

• This is my 11th year at VHS

• I graduated from Stetson University with a B.A. degree in Political Science/Social Science

• I have three earned degrees from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary: M.Div.; Th.M; and Ph.D.

• I am the Faculty Adviser for the VHS chapter of the National Honor Society

• I place a high value on education -- I will do everything in my power to help students succeed

• I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida

• My wife recently retired after 32 years as a teacher 

• We have three grown children and three grandchildren

2026-2027 School Year

This year I teach Dual Enrollment Humanities, Dual Enrollment World Religions, Honors Economics, and Dual Enrollment American National Government. Course syllabi and classroom expectations are available below. Spring syllabi will be posted in December.

Each VHS class will have a Google Classroom where assignments and other material will be posted. Parents and guardians can always be added to the Classroom to monitor learning progress and view assignments and due dates.  Assignments, announcements, class resources, and other course materials will be posted on the LSSC Canvas site for the LSSC/Dual Enrollment course sections.
