Room # 6-218
Welcome to my teacher connection page!
Name
My name is Amanda Oni, and I was born and raised here in Florida. I graduated Leesburg High School and pursued higher education at the University of Florida. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree, both from UF. Obviously I bleed orange and blue!! Go Gators!
I met my husband at the University of Florida and we married during my 3rd year in pharmacy school. After graduating from UF with my PharmD, my husband and I moved to Colorado where I was a practicing pharmacist in community and hospital settings. It was here, in Colorado, that my daughters were born. A part of me will always love Colorado!
We moved back to Lake county in 2013 where I continued to practice as a pharmacist. I am still a practicing pharmacist at an independent pharmacy in Leesburg on weekends, but transitioned to teaching full-time in 2022, when I took a position at VCMS as a math teacher. When Middleton opened in 2023, I moved down to VCMS @ Middleton to teach 7th grade Life Science. This spring, an opportunity to teach high school biology opened, and I jumped at the chance to move to VHS and teach Biology! I am very excited to be here at the Villages High School and teach a subject that is so meaningful to me.
My family loves to travel and we like to include Colorado in our travels most years.
