Expectations:
Attendance in class is crucial, much like it is in a professional setting. Regular attendance at work reflects an employee's commitment and reliability. It serves as a key indicator of responsibility and professionalism, both of which are essential for success in any career.
Communication is key for all classes! I will count on the students to join the Remind App. This two-way messaging system is a great tool for us to utilize especially being on a rotating block schedule and not meeting for class everyday.
Our business classes uphold professional behavior standards. Career Ready Practices describe the skills that educators should seek to develop in their students. These include but are not limited to: being punctual and ready to work, respectful to peers, teachers, classroom equipment, using appropriate language/manners, keeping work area clean, staying focused and on task, following all classroom rules, etc.

About Me:
I am thrilled to begin my 22nd year in education, with 20 of those years here at VHS. My passion is empowering students to become informed consumers and navigate financial challenges with confidence.
I'm an educator from upstate New York with a passion for student success. I earned my Bachelor's Degrees in Business Marketing and Business Management from SUNY New Paltz, where I was also a collegiate athlete competing in basketball and softball. After working in the finance sector, I discovered my true calling in the classroom. I've taught in Hawaii and now Florida, where I'm closer to my family. From international study in London to working across different industries and regions, various diverse experiences have shaped my perspective and deepened my commitment to education.
Since starting at VHS in 2007 I have taught various courses, coached multiple sports teams and taken the lead on several clubs and projects. In 2009 I earned my Masters in Business Education from the University of Central Florida. In 2019 I had the wonderful privilege of starting the Business & Banking Academy. I have earned numerous certifications shown below. In 2022 I was named a Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF) Distinguished Educator. I also serve as an adjunct professor at Lake Sumter State College.
In our free time my husband and I love to travel. We love cruising as well as taking road trips. So far I have been to 32 foreign countries and 49 states! If I taught any of your older siblings or family members they might know me by my maiden name (Varrone).
We are all on this journey together. I look forward to working with each of you this year.
