Welcome! I am so excited to be teaching Pre-AP English 1 this year and absolutely thrilled to also be teaching 2 sections of Dual Enrollment Education Courses as well.  I'm really looking forward to meeting every one of my new students, who will become like family to me.  Building a relationship is always my first priority and then I know I can instill a love of learning and hard work in each student.  I look forward to fostering a love of deep thinking, reading, writing, and speaking in each of you!

A Little About Me

This is my 22nd year of teaching- all here at VCS!   However, this is my second year at VHS, after moving from the elementary school where I taught 1st grade for 12 years and 5th grade for 8 years.  I'm excited to teach many former students again!  I graduated from The University of Florida with both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Elementary Education.  You'll learn quickly that I'm a HUGE Gator fan! In 2024, I obtained my certification in English 6-12 and love to teach teenagers- just an older version of the students I've loved teaching for 20 years!

When I'm not at school busy with my "school kids", I'm at home enjoying time with my family.  My husband Eric and I have been married for 21 years and have two children, Kennedy (17), who is a senior and Karter (12), who is a seventh grader.  They keep me busy with Kennedy on two competitive dance teams and Karter playing sports.  We also love spending time traveling, at the beach, on the boat, or enjoying sporting events (especially college football).  Our life is non-stop as I'm sure most of yours are also, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
