Ryan Detwiler
Hello and welcome everyone to my teacher connection page!
My name is Ryan Detwiler and this will be my 15th year here at The Villages Charter School. I currently teach the Computer Science Academy, foundations of programming, as well as AP Computer Science Principles. I had also taught math here during my first 13 years. I was born and raised up north in Pennsylvania and have been here in Florida since 2011. My wife Brianna and I are the proud parents of our two amazing children Kendal and Waylin. Feel free to scroll through my pictures!
I love to play just about all sports. In high school I had played basketball and soccer and decided to focus on education when I went off to college until randomly falling into the track and field program. I also still hold the high jump record at the university (that's right!) that I set back in 2008. Here's the link for the doubters! Mansfield University of Pennsylvania is where I obtained my degree in mathematics education. I have also spent a semester studying abroad at Volgograd State University in Volgograd, Russia.
On top of enjoying sports, I also love spending time with my family, going to the beach, and I can never go fishing enough in all waters but mostly salt.
If there's anything else that you would like to know, just ask!
