Ms. Minckler

Welcome to music! My name is Ms. Minckler and I am so excited to help our students create beautiful music together this year. Learning to perform in an ensemble and acquiring the unique habits of mind that come with it, is one of the most incredible opportunities that our school can offer your child. I am not only passionate about growing a new generation of musicians, music lovers, and future patrons of the arts — I am determined to provide our children with the tools to become great thinkers, citizens, and lifelong lovers of learning (and music).  

Background & Experience

Ms. Minckler brings over 20 years of passion and expertise in NYC and Florida to music education at our school. With a Bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern University and a Master's degree from the prestigious Eastman School of Music, she combines rigorous musical training with a deep commitment to fostering the next generation of musicians. Her extensive experience directing middle and high school choirs has shaped countless students into confident performers and lifelong music lovers.  Students and parents alike have warmly expressed their gratitude and love for her and her class, applauding her recent distinction of Teacher of the Year.

At the heart of Ms. Minckler's teaching philosophy is a belief in providing students with real-world experiences that challenge them to grow as musicians and artists. She creates opportunities for her students to perform at world-renowned venues, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, as well as international performances in Florence, Italy, with a little side trip to Disneyland Paris, just for fun. In addition, on two separate occasions, she chaperoned students to various cities in Japan to enrich their musical and cultural experiences.  These opportunities transform students' understanding of the world around them and what they can achieve, inspiring them to pursue music with greater depth and purpose.

Whether in her choir classes or Dual Enrollment Music Appreciation course, Ms. Minckler is dedicated to making music accessible, engaging, and meaningful for every student. Her courses emphasize not only technical skill, but also the joy of collaborative music-making and the profound impact that music has on our lives and within our communities.

Outside of teaching, Ms. Minckler enjoys cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs during football season, collecting beach glass on the coast of the Adriatic Sea in Croatia and making special memories at Disney World with her husband, niece, and nephew.
