Halle York

I am from Freeport Maine, attending Freeport High School. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, athletics, and playing guitar. I find happiness when participating in the arts.

I like focusing on realism as well as abtractism. Throughout my art career, I’ve worked with each and also combined these types of art. I usually use acrylic paint as it creates a solid base and is easily interchangeable as it dries fast. I see themes of color as well as oceanic themes in my work. Right now, I like a lot of the realism pieces I’ve done, but I think it would be the piece I did of Theo and his sister called “Siblings”. It really captures the idea of happiness shared amongst siblings. Art to me is way of expression and a concept that is subjective to everyone. It is a tool I can use to release stress and find peace in creating something original. I have received Maine Junior Duck Stamp awards and Scholastics awards.
