Special Good Friday Programming
On April 19, Good Friday, WEAF had a special broadcast of the Bethany College Oratorio Society of Kansas in a performance of sacred music from 6:15 to 6:45. WJZ aired Easter music from the Stamford High School A Capella Choir from 6:30-6:45.
Most stations, with the notable exception of WABC, pre-empted their 7:00-7:30 programming Friday for a special program on the famine in Europe with addresses by President Truman, former president Herbert Hoover, Fiorello La Guardia and Secretary of Agriculture Clinton P. Anderson on the dire situation.
