The Easter Show at Radio City in the Sunday Herald Tribune

The newspaper ran a caricature of the Easter stage show at Radio City Music Hall. That holiday period, two shows accompanied the film “The Green Years.” The combo was the biggest attraction at the movie theaters that week.

The newspaper stated that “The Glory of Easter” was in its 14th year and already had been seen by 4.5-million people. Other sources noted that it actually pre-dated Radio City having been transferred with its creators and the Rockettes from the Roxie.

“On the Avenue” was a new springtime revue that continued beyond the holiday period. The cartoon showed the corps de ballet dressed as edible vegetables and a rabbit for the pageant, the Rockettes as glamorous dancing daffodils and novelty adagio dancers Myrtill & Pecaud in front of the realistic reproduction of Rockefeller Center Plaza which served as the backdrop for their number.
