Mogul Emperor Akbar and his close friend Raja Mansingh, having heard about the divine songs of Meera Bhai of CHITTOR ( Mewar Rajput kingdom), visit one of her prayer and song sessions of her Giridhari temple, in disguise.
( maiyn hari charan ki dasi).
And present a precious gold and diamond necklace which Meerabai adorns her Lord Giridhari.
Akbar and Mansingh are spotted by Rana's senathipathi but they escape in horseback. While escaping, they inadvertently leave a purse with the insignia of the Mogul emperor.
This is reported to the Rana who gets furious. and orders his commander to raze the Giridhari temple, to the ground by mortar attack.
At that time, Meerabai is as usual having a prayer/song session there with devotees in trance chanting Hari's name.

Rana's minister, when he comes to learn of the order to demolish the temple, chides the Rana and advises him to save the temple. Rana's sister, who was witness to Meerabai's miraculous survival from the poison given to her, also confesser her crime to Rana and then Rana realizes the blunder and rushes to the temple to salvage the damage.

The devotees in the temple refuse to go out of the temple and say that Hari will save them. Mererabai asks them to chant the divine name of Hari and stands before the closed door of the shrine when the canon shot is fired.
It hits the Rana by chance and Merrabai at that moment, decides to renounce her royal status and takes leave of the repentant Rana.

Wandering in the wilderness with her tamnura, in search of a dharsan of her Lord Giridhari, she sings
dharas bina...

In a storm that follows, she loses her tamnbura also and like a mendicant reaches Brindavan. on the banks of Yamuna river.
She is then ecstatic and sings
yaadh aavae , yaadh aave
along with other devotess.
At that time, the mystic
Roopa Goswami is in prayer and he senses the divine arrival of Meerabai to the aashram amd arranges to take her to Dwarika along with the devotees.
On the way, Meerabai sings
Kunjana vana chaadi
and finally the group reaches Dwarika.
Here ends the present clop[.

The final clip shows Meerabai at Dwarika temple and her heart-rending prayer to Lord Krushna there. and her miraculous merger with the Lord there.
