June 30, 2014 – Lexington, VA

It’s 12:00 noon and I’m sitting in an air conditioned Burger King waiting to hear from the guys. This morning was a rough leg and they told me to go ahead and meet in Lexington. I had a couple errands to run. The packing and unpacking was beginning to be a stresser, as we packed too much. So last night we went through all our stuff and today I made a trip to UPS and shipped a bunch of stuff to Jon’s wife in Tigard, OR. We gave up our folding lawn chairs, tool box, a camera tripod, an electric skillet, a lot of clothes, and all my skin care productsL It cost $98 to ship, plus cost of box, tape, bubble wrap- total $112. It was an expensive lesson in packing. It is hard to pack when we are half camping/ half motels. We need all our camping stuff and we want to cook some meals. The current routine is to have something easy for breakfast- cereal, fruit, lunch out- we meet up for lunch and find a quirky, local place to eat, or picnic if there isn’t a good food option and cook our own dinner- usually a rice-a-roni type dish with canned chicken and bread, fruit or veggie.
