Day 15,16; Thu.-Fri. 7/10,11 Berea & Anniversary

Post date: Jul 12, 2014 12:42:21 AM

Deb is here with us now so yesterday was a planned, no-ride day. Instead we wandered around the artists and tradespeople of Berea, KY. This included weavers, glass-blowers, jewelers, painters and more. I had an interesting conversation with a man while he turned a CD looking piece of pewter into a mint-julep cup. Deb & I also toured the craft area of Berea college. Students who attend Berea do so tuition free but are expected to work 10 hours in one of several trade areas and most of the student body is from Kentucky. Quite fascinating. Today, 7/11, Doug & I rode about 70 miles, partly because we missed a few turns in the beautiful rolling hills that we're now experiencing in Kentucky. Tonights stay is Harrodsburg, KY after beginning in Berea with a mocha. It's great to have Deb here and today we celebrate 27 years of marriage. Our "fancy" dinner was a few nights ago when she landed in Lexington. Tomorrow, more riding and then another planned no-ride day to visit Mammoth Caves National Park.
