2015-07-26: Day 28, Oregon Trail Interpretive Center

Post date: Jul 28, 2015 3:28:46 AM

Spent the day with Teresa, Marion, and Jon at the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center just outside of Baker City. Very visual displays and good information on the pioneers that traveled the trail west to Oregon. Over the 30 years of its use approximately 300,000 people crossed the country on this route in search of a better life. The center takes you through a series of interactive displays that follows the sequence of steps

the pioneers had to take to be ready and then what they experienced once on the route. We also took the short 180 foot walk from the lower road to see the actual ruts created by the pioneer wagons. A good day of rest.
