Days 30-31; Fri.-Sat., 7/25-26, You are in Kansas, forevermore

Today I sit in our motel resting. It's 100 degrees outside with strong winds so after 5 days of riding we decided to rest today and pedal tomorrow. A few more impressions from Missouri, especially the western Ozarks. I liked the farms. They seem like the kind you buy for a preschool kid; house, barn w/ silo, a few cows and other animals and 100 acres. We've seen giant plantings on other farms with many hundred acres but the size, orderliness of the MO farms seemed "just right." Yesterday was warm with the wind returning come from the south-southwest. Sixty-seven miles is good but it did wear me out. Now that we're in Kansas I find myself wanting to put some serious miles on, whatever my body can take. We're about 70% done with this adventure and in the words of my cousin who just drove the length of Kansas twice, it is a "long, long, long" state.
