2014-07-17: Day 22 My Wife, Marion, KY to Tunnel Hill, IL

Post date: Jul 20, 2014 3:04:05 AM

Mileage Today: 60 Total Mileage: 1098 Special Note: We have had no internet for a couple of days. So, this is being posted on 07/19/2014.

Today we crossed into Illinois, our 3rd state of the trek. We did this in fine fashion on a ferry across the Ohio River at Cave In Rock, Illinois. The ferry runs all day long and we got there early this morning. So it was a private ferry ride across - just our car and our 2 bikes. I thought today, I would blog not about that but instead about something more important. I wanted to blog about my wife. If you have been following along, you know she is here with me enduring my adventure. Enduring is certainly the right word. Every day she has gotten the car to wherever it needed to be. She has slept on the ground. She has spent the night in churches and at fire stations. She has eaten camp food. She has helped and in some cases actually done the laundry generated by two sweaty guys. I never asked for any of this. Teresa volunteered. She has done all this because she not only wants to support me in my quest to ride across America but she actually wants to be part of my adventure. God, how I love this women! We will celebrate our 28th anniversary on this trip probably somewhere in western Kansas. This trip is just one of many great adventures that we have had together. I am so very lucky that she chose to go on life’s journey with me. So, I wanted to say here on the internet. I love you dear.
