Rework Notes
Over the years we have redone many repairs that hadnt been done properly. Heres a sample of whats not good enough.
Heels Black mens
- Grinding not same heights 2mm diff
- Knife undercut on breast/front of heel
- Heel trimmer one flared out esp at back
- Cone one done one not done
- Deburring only on one

Heel trimmed straight. Ground blocks back with cone to make them straight. Used Naumkeg on the sole to smooth it out then repainted. Also removed the purple paint from toe area where it was mostly gone and looked patchy.
Heels Black ladies
- Some under cutting with the miniband, and a lip left in other places where it needed more taken off.
- While painting heels, paint toes if scuffed ... if black anyway! If tricky colours like red green etc only paint if they are paying to match the colour.

- When painting heels should touch up toes at same time. And trim loose threads
Heels and half soles mens
- Build only ground on rough belt, then atomed over but not reground
- Sole ground with "mini" band instead of "against" it
- Sole trimming starts and stops at sole join
- Waist needs a clean or paint
- sole edges ???... go right around? or paint?
Ground around the heel block with fine band and then painted. Had to mix up the colour which was time consuming. Best to trim builds really nicely and then leave the heel block alone if possible.

Usually best with miniband to grind the full edge and go past the join 10-30mm, it drags the eye away from the join.

Full edge ground and all the way past join ... then painted.

Waist area is a mess.

Coned the front of the block straight. Sanded the waist and wiped paint over.
Ladies suede boots

Overall presentation will have some effect on how much happies the customer has when they first see their repairs. Laces are a mess. Uppers a re all rumpled.

Fresh laces, threaded and tied, plastic bag inside, edges painted.
A bit over the top but lets see what the customer says!
