Pure Contour

3 Views of a Shoe / 3 Zoom / Band

All of these drawings are an art style called pure contour. Pure contour is drawing with only pure lines. The lines shouldn't be sketchy or hairy. The more distinct and necessary lines be darker and the farther away lines should be lighter.

My first drawing is three views of shoe. I had to draw three shoes: in from the front angle, one from the side angle, and one from a top angle. The side and front angle were done with the same shoe. I focused on proportion. I also tried to focus on the laces and stitches in the shoe. The top view was done with a different shoe. I didn't have the same shoe with me when I drew it so I drew a different one. With this one I focused on some of the designs.

My second pure contour drawing is zoomed and cropped. I chose one of my three shoe drawings. I had a 1 in. by 2in. hope cut out in a pice of paper. I put this hole over the shoe I chose and drew what was in the rectangle but I zoomed it in onto a new piece of paper. I took the paper with the hole on it in a spot on my new drawing and zoomed and cropped that one. I repeated this one more time.

My final pure contour is of a hand holding a rubber band. I was supposed to put it in an interesting position on my hand. I was supposed to draw all the lines and creases in my hand. This was really hard while keeping it in pure contour.
