Pownal Fire Department

For this project my school was creating a community project to put into themes addition of the school. I chose a place in Pownal, Maine— the place where I have lived my whole life— that had some importance to me. I chose the pownal fire department, because my family is very involved there. I then went on Google Maps, and found the spot where it was.

I sketched out the major lines on a piece of paper and decided my colors. I was given a specific palette of colors that I could choose from. I had the option to mix certain colors, including spectral blue, spectral red, deep yellow, ultra marine blue, white, raw umber, and more. I ended up with a list of 54 different color options to choose from.

I originally wanted to do mostly warm colors, but I decided that greens and blues would complement them, so I added those in. There were some areas I wanted to add patterns to. I decided on some patterns that I liked for some of the spots. Some I was inspired by other patterns, and others I made up on my own.
