Imagination / Portrait

For this project I had to draw in blind contour. This means I drew real life things without looking at them. First i had to draw a hand while facing in another direction. I had to draw it in an interesting position. I drew in black marker to make sure i didn't erase. I then had to draw a self portrait with my paper covered. It was difficult for me not to look at my drawings while i drew them. After drawing both drawings, i had to chose one to add more to. I chose to add to the hand drawing.

I though one of my "hands" looked like a tree trunk. I began to sketch the crown of the tree in a roundish shape. I then drew random lines in the top of the tree. i also drew many different sized circles in the crown. i filled these in with color. I thought the other hand looked like the body of an animal. I eventually decided to turn this into a horse. I drew its hair to look like it was blowing, though it ended up looking like a cartoon. I drew a blanket covering the horse and then began to color. After i finished the tree and horse thought about what else would look good around them. I drew and colored some plants and some clouds. I drew a sun reflecting through one of the clouds.
