Perspective

City / Bedroom / School

These are perspective drawings. Perspective is how you see things. In everyday life everything has perspective. this also means 3D objects. All perspective drawings have a vanishing point.

The first drawing I began by drawing a horizon line. On the center of this line is the vanishing point. The next thing i did was draw ten 2D figures. I then had to turn these into 3D figures. I did this by using a ruler. I lines up the ruler with the three closest corners to the vanishing point of one figure and drew a straight and light line to the vanishing point. I then drew a parallel line to each side turning them 3D. Any line that went over my new parallel lines i erased. After i repeated this with each figure i thought it was alittle plain. I drew decorations on the blocks to make them look like city buildings. i then drew lines to make roads around the buildings.

The next drawing was meant to be more complicated. I had to draw a room. I was given a list of required items to be in the room but i could put anything else i wanted in it. I started out by drawing an X lightly across the piece of paper. i drew a circle in the center of the page. this is the Vanishing point. I drew a box around the vanishing point. this is the backwall. the first thing i drew was the door. to do this i had a ruler to draw a straight line from the vanishing point to where i wanted the door to be. I drew two parallel lines from the sides of the line to the floor. i used the same method to draw the windows except i drew a bottom. i drew a couch first by drawing a long cube. i drew a back and added detail to make it look like a couch. I drew the tiles in the floor by having equal distances at the beginning of the paper and drawing lines back to the vanishing point. I then used an X method to find out where the other lines should cross. i drew a carpet by having two points that i connected to the vanishing point and drew lines to make it the size i wanted. I drew ceiling beams and recessed lights. I drew a shelf on the wall. After drawing all the necassary things i wanted to decorate the room. i decided to make it look like a little girls room. i have to younger sisters so i got alot of inspiration from their room.

My third drawing was an observational perspective drawing. It is a drawing of a hallway at my school. For this one I had to set up a chair at a point in the hall. I had to draw the hall from the spot I was at and look around me to see how things should be drawn. I began by creating a vanishing point. Like my second drawing I created the back wall after making an X on the back. I made tiles on the ground, and matched the pattern as in the hall. I did my best to match the textured walls. I also drew the stand of chairs next to the wall. Like the hallway I made my drawing have three rows on the ceiling even though it didn't have the same number of ceiling tiles I tried to make it look similar.
